you would like to contribute to the FaRaPhy summer festival 2020? Then drop by for our first planning session!
We will meet on 14.02. at 3 pm at the open physics room (R220).
P.S. Unable to attend? No problem! - Just write us your ideas and we will integrate them. 💙
the weekly faculty colloquium will take place tomorrow! This time Prof. Dr. Jürgen Vollmer will speak at 5 pm in the theoretical lecture hall on the topic "Fluctuations and dissipation in phase separation". All students are invited to coffee at 16:45!
we are already planning for next year and so the question arises whether and to what extent there should be another summer party in 2020. But we also want to get your opinions and wishes. Enclosed you will find a short survey on the topic, you can also send us your ideas by mail or in person.

tomorrow, 29.10.2019, you have the special opportunity to have a preliminary talk with the guest speaker of the colloquium in the aula of the Faculty of Physics. You can ask him your questions from 16:15 in a round of students. If you like the topic, feel free to drop by.
PLEASE NOTE: Module registration IPSP / Mathematical Physics
Due to changes in the course of studies Bachelor IPSP, Master IPSP and the new Master program "Mathematical Physics" the module registration starts October, 7th at noon (12:00).
Dear Freshers, don't forget: tomorrow the mathematical preparation course starts.
Here you can refresh your mathematics knowledge from school and get to know some of your fellow students.
The preparation course consists of a lecture part and a practice part. You don't have to register, you just have to go there. It takes place in the building of the Faculty of Physics in room 532 and starts at 9:15 am. You can find more information about the course and the dates on the following flyer at
Your Student Representatives "FaRaPhy" wish you lots of fun 🙂
This upcoming semester the University of Leipzig wants to create a space for engaged discussions on gender in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
This module is geared toward male and female students interested in discussing and working on ideas and solutions to change the under-representation and inequality in the above mentioned fields.
We will have two intensive sessions (Blockseminar) and 90 minutes every other week. If you want to register send an email to the email address below and if you have any questions you can write an email to email@example.com.
--fresh waffles for free--
Tuesday (4.6.) from 9:00 to 16:00 room 220, Linnestraße 5
Wednesday (5.6.) from 9:00 to 16:00 room 220, Linnestraße 5
As a reward, all voters get fresh waffles and the chance to win one of the following physics books!
Wouldn't that be something? Modules like Sun Dance, Theoretical Arm Movements and Advanced Name Gymnastics are part of the semester plan. At seminars, sequences of movements would be studied and rain songs practiced.
That doesn't convince you? Then go and vote for your student representatives in room 220 on June 4 and 5!
On the 4th and 5th of June the Uni elections will take place and we have dedicated an entire bulletin board to this topic. Here you get all information about the election, including the committees for which you can vote.
Every year our faculty has the opportunity to award a Deutschlandstipendium . All students can apply for this scholarship. The scholarship includes a monthly contribution of 300€. Scholarship holders should distinguish themselves through commitment and previous achievements in their studies, whereby family or financial aspects are also taken into account. An application is worthwhile!
Apply now until 15 June 2019 (23:59 pm)

On the 20th of May, we invite you to our meeting in order to get to know our work and our members better. Come by! Ice cream included 😉
